A Trillion Dollars - for what?

According to the US Congress's Joint Economic Committee, it costs the United States:

One Point Six Trillion Dollars to
fight wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan.

A trillion dollars - that's $1,600,000,000 that the government will admit to, and we all know how reliable their figures are, right?

The US defense budget is now DOUBLE what it was at the end of the Cold War. Remember that time? Our enemy was the Soviet Empire which had over 40,000 nuclear bombs sitting on top of intercontinental ballistic missles aimed right at us, and yet we were able to face them down for less than half of what we are now spending to deal with a couple of third world countries that are not even officially at war with us.

Ron Paul says:

Eliminate the IRS.
Save the money the IRS would have collected by ending foreign occupation by American troops.

Makes sense to me.

Support Ron Paul
